“I believe our ‘energy footprint’

--Ralph Kellner,
Duluth, Minnesota

Ralph Kellner and his wife Mary live in a two-story, 1700 sq. foot, three-bedroom home, built by Dynamic Homes and located in the Park Point area of Duluth, Minnesota. Park Point extends into the chilly waters of Lake Superior, protecting the Duluth Harbor from the weather extremes of the lake. “We get high winds here several times a year, and last winter had drifts that buried first floor windows,” Kellner said. The yearly temperature in Duluth averages just 38.5 degrees.
|
| “We spend an average of only $120.57 per month for heating, air conditioning, hot water, cooking, lighting and appliances,” Kellner said. And that is keeping the house at 70 degrees, give or take a degree or two, all year round. I’m not an economist, but our savings may actually grow in relative value if the costs for fossil fuels continue to increase,” Kellner said. |
